I’m training for the 2012 North Face Canadian Death Race.

I’ll also be running the Blackfoot 50km in May and Rundles Revenge 50km in June as part of my training.

Prior to jumping into the ultra world, I’d never run farther than a road marathon and I thought I was pretty fit. I was wrong.

Ultra training has been the most satisfying and exhausting thing I’ve done. I’ve made new friends, learned new things, and earned a few pretty impressive bruises and blisters.

Putting my (very) active social life aside has been an adjustment, but the experience of making new friends on the trails and the barrage of e-mails I’m getting with subject line: “Weekend Run” has helped curb the FOMO (fear of missing out…on nightclub fun).

Instead of wondering about trying new things, I’ve decided to do new things. Time to make some fresh steps.

Thanks for stopping by!
